Ultraschalldiagnostik findet nahezu in allen Fachdisziplinen Anwendung. Insbesondere bei onkologischen und Palliativpatienten stellt sie eine sehr hilfreiche Diagnosemethode dar. Kontrastmittelunterstützte Sonografie und sonografisch gesteuerte Interventionen sind weitere Säulen des Ultraschalls. Dieser Artikel gibt eine Übersicht über Anwendungsgebiete des Ultraschalls bei onkologischen Patienten und weist auf wichtige Indikationen der Untersuchungen und das periinterventionelle Management hin.
Ultrasound diagnostics and interventions in oncology
Ultrasound diagnostics is used in almost all specialist disciplines and is a very helpful diagnostic method especially for oncological and palliative patients. Contrast-enhanced sonography and sonographically controlled interventions are further pillars of ultrasound. This article is intended to provide an overview of possible areas of application of ultrasound in oncological patients as well as to indicate important indications of the examinations and the periinterventional management.
